I Love a Man With Dishpan Hands

This morning Denver and I were loading the dishwasher together, since that's his chore for the week. He was busy scrubbing and I was loading and wiping down countertops. After awhile, we came to last night's pan that was coated in gook and two cookie sheets with baked on cheese. I took over scrubbing and was scraping some of the cheese off one of the cookie sheets. The following conversation then took place.

Denver: "I know how you clean greasy stuff. You need Oxi Plus. . . or BAM. (pause) I know how you use BAM. . . you just wipe, wash and squirt."

Mommy: "Don't you squirt, wipe and wash?"

Denver: "Yeah. . . and for Palmolive Oxi Plus you just squirt (pretending to squirt a bottle of dish liquid) and wipe."

A few minutes later. . . "When can we get some Palmolive Oxi Plus?"

I know, I know what you are thinking: they watch way too much t.v. But all I can think is: Man, I love this little man with dishpan hands and isn't he smart for figuring out that Palmolive Oxi Plus is the better choice because it requires one less step.

Amazing what they retain, huh? Did you ever imagine he was paying attention during dish-washing liquid commercials?! And remembering what they were about?!! And comparing the products?!!! That boy of yours is just too dang adorable.

His great-great Grandpa Denver must be real proud. He is COOL!
Mom

I think I am going to try your chore for the week plan. I usually just come up with a list that has no rhyme or reason(just what needs to be done)and Denver has inspired me. If he can do it, so can my kids(no matter what they say)!

Send him my way next! And have him bring the Oxi Plus too!

Dani is TOTALLY the same way with commercials. A couple of weeks ago, we were driving to preschool and out of the blue, Dani starts talking about how we need to get a Kia Sedona...

Aww! That's rather cute. I don't think either of my girls have ever suggested buying products they saw on commercials though Bria IS always telling me how much better the stuff her nanny (dad's mom) buys and uses. :)

OT, when I read Kim's reply (before I saw it was from Kim) I was thinking, No, I am not! And I was wondering WHY Paul would post such a thing... Then I finished reading the reply and saw who posted it and it all made since... I am so not used to not being the only Dani around. ;)
