Pancake Hibachi

Sunday morning we all voted on pancakes for breakfast so Mark whipped up a batch of his famous pancakes and I fired up the griddle and tadah! We had a Pancake Hibachi. Mark poured the pancake batter onto the griddle and the kids added their own "special" ingredients--mostly chocolate, white and peanut butter chips with the occassional blueberry or banana here and there.

Looks delicious and alot of fun, we will have to try it! Love the baby countdown!

What a neat idea! Isaw something on tv that these kids got to decorate the frosted birthday cake as an activity during the party... this is like that! Some really cool activities!

Mmmmmm! Do you think you might want to have pancakes again soon? Like maybe on Saturday? Around 10:30ish? Please?

oh my gosh, what a cute idea! my kids would LOVE that! yet another idea for the restuccias to rip off of the henrichsens

I remember Mark saying once that he didn't know why people used mixes to make pancakes, cause they're so easy to make from scratch, and they taste so much better. Having been unimpressed with all of my attemps at from-scratch-pancakes, I used mixes faithfully . . . UNTIL . . . I finally tried Mark's recipe. He's right. I will never go back to mixes. And I may just add chocolate chips from now on. Yum!

I use Reduced Fat Bisquick,(got cheap w coupons of course - .29 cents/box) and add 1/2 c Sugar and some squirts of lemon juice. The girls DEVOUR them FAST.

Regarding jl's comment - at Eliza's fourth birthday party, instead of a birthday cake, I had the kids frost and decorate their own cupcakes. And since Eliza's birthday fell on Easter that year, all the kids colored eggs with Crayons and then dyed them. It was the best party Eliza's ever had! The kids loved it. And I love this idea, Shana. We make pancakes a lot in our house, too, but always with Bisquick. Can I have Mark's recipe to try? Eliza always wants a Mickey Mouse pancake. Breakfast nights are the funnest!

2 cups milk
2 tsp vinegar
2 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups flour
2 Tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Sour the milk with the vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes. Then beat in the eggs. While mixing, add the remaining ingredients. Fry on a hot pan or griddle, and eat.

Please save some chocolate chips & coconut for me!

What a fun idea! So...can we have Mark's recipe?
