Thirty Seconds

So Caleb and I were happily making cornbread to go with dinner last night. Everything was running rather smoothly considering the time of day it was and we were thirty seconds from putting the cornbread in the muffin tins and 18 to 20 minutes away from eating dinner. Then the twins teamed up and decided they wanted Caleb's silkie and as Caleb bent down to defend his poor blanket from being dragged off and drooled upon by Team J he lost his balance. In an attempt at stopping his fall, Caleb grabbed hold of the bowl of cornbread and pulled it down on top of his head and both went crashing to the floor. Now we were no longer 18 to 20 minutes away from eating dinner. Now we were one bath, one major cleanup, two fussy babies and another batch of cornbread plus 18 to 20 minutes away from dinner. And I wonder why I'm so exhausted at the end of every day.

Better you than me! And you had the where-with-all to take a picture! What a woman! (We won't talk about what I would have done...nooooo.)

I just can't believe you let him help you with dinner! I am constantly shooing my kids out of the kitchen~!

Can you laugh about it yet? Cuz, you know... that's about the cutest picture of Caleb ever. And it is pretty funny, in a tragic "what else can you do but laugh" kind of way.

Poor Caleb! It looks like he handled it pretty well, though.

Best you grabbed the camera... better to laugh at this point than the alternative.... You know... a nice cushy padded room on the third floor of the Bridgeport Hospital.

That is truly the cutest picture! It really makes me giggle. I recently had an experience with what was supposed to be hard boiled eggs, except DB had grabbed the wrong eggs. All you can do is capture the moment and try to fix it best you can. Denise

LOL! Poor kid! At least I didn't get it on myself the other day...cream of wheat everywhere (but not on my head, thank heavens!) Did you still make the cornbread? if so way to stick with it!
