It may seem like it would be easier than staying but within 24 hours your heart will remember your boys' sweet smiles, and the feel of their hugs, and the looks on their face when you make them cookies and the way they smell and the twinkle in their eye and you will start to remember how much they need you to calm them when they are scared, to wipe away their tears when they are sad, and your kisses to make their boo-boos better, and you to snuggle them and read to them and your heart will ache and you will wonder why you left in the first place. You won't be able to get home fast enough to fill the awful gaping void and endless emptiness that you will feel inside. Your family needs you...and you need them. Hang in there Shana.
