Why do the weekends fly by so fast and the week drag on so long? I’ll never understand. Sundays seem to go by especially fast. Mark and I spent the morning getting ready for Primary and Stake Choir. I’m the primary chorister and Mark is the primary pianist. It’s pretty fun–it’s not very often that you get to work so closely with your spouse at church. Anyway, we’re learning a new song which I’ve never heard before, so I spent a good hour or so, trying to learn “He Sent His Son.” It’s a beautiful song. Then, Mark took his turn practicing the piano for choir. He’s been asked to play two pieces for Stake Conference–”Redeemer of Israel” (by Mack Wilberg) which is especially challenging and “Rejoice the Lord is King.” Then, we rushed to get dressed and headed off for Primary Leadership Meeting. Our ward meets from 1:30-4:30pm which I love but it’s especially difficult for the children. No naps! When we got home, Mark ate quick and ran out the door for choir practice. I fed the kids, played with Denver and Noah a bit, gave them each a couple of blanket rides and tucked them in bed. Denver figured out how to pop the nipple out of his bottle and spilled milk all over himself and his bed. I got the sheets changed just in time for him to barf all over the clean sheets. So, I ripped off the sheets and had to start all over again. Blah! Anyway, they’re all in bed and it’s quiet and I’m not too far behind them. Nite-nite!

Well. . . the kids are in bed, I just finished folding three loads of laundry and started up another two, and Mark and I are watching “Seabiscuit,” an excellent film. In a few minutes I’ll go grab my Dulce de Leche Ice cream (which was on sale 2 for $5–yipee!) and snuggle into Mark’s armpit and probably fall asleep. Denver threw up two times tonight. That makes me a little nervous. For those of you who don’t know, Denver was in the hospital two weekends ago because he was dehydrated from throwing up so much (three days straight). So, the fact that he’s throwing up again is a little disconcerting. Today we went up to Hartford to the mission office to check out some cars they are selling. Our Geo overheated on Mark’s way home from work about four months ago and we’re thinking about a replacement. We met some really great missionaries there and the boys had a blast playing in the puddles and bushes and dirt. Then we met up with Chris and family and Nate and family to celebrate Ben’s 1st birthday. We ran to Big Y afterwards and picked up a few (okay a lot) of things we didn’t really need but that looked good–like ice cream and meat (buy 1 pkg. get 2 free!) and Cadbury mini eggs. When we got home I spent a good hour cleaning out our van which was filthy and Mark and I took turns pushing the kids in the swings. It was another beautiful, sunshiney day (50 degrees at least)–gotta love that. Our furnace is up and running tonight, thanks to a miracle (no service was required) and hopefully the repair man will be able to fix the problem on Monday. Well, my ice cream is calling! Have a wonderful evening.

Today was a bad day. Bad, bad day. And our furnace just went kaput! I knew this day was coming, just why at ten o’clock at night when everyone is closed? How cold does a house get when you have no heat and it’s 20 degrees outside? Guess we’ll find out. Time to pull out all of those quilts I’ve been thinking about selling at the garage sale because we never use them. Humph! The world’s biggest bowl of ice cream isn’t gonna fix this one. Good night!

My first real blog. I can just see family members everywhere passing out from the shock of it all. It’s about time, I know. Everyone has been telling me how great blogging is and my family has had me all “hooked up” for weeks. The only problem is. . . it involves a computer and I hate computers. Anyway, I’ve decided to give it a go and let y’all in on the madness at the Henrichsen home.
This week has been a busy one for me. I don’t go out much with the three boys–they tend to run away, in all different directions and I never know who to tackle first. I feel much safer keeping them locked up at home. But. . .this week we had to go out. Tuesday we went to pick up Hunter’s glasses. He actually likes them, which I didn’t expect at all. Now we just have to get him to look through them. We find him looking over the tops of them a lot. Silly Hunter. Wednesday we had Hunter and Noah’s first dental appointments. Hunter was kind of wiggly and difficult but he got a good report. . .no cavities. Noah loved everything about the experience–the “tickler” (the toothbrush), “Mr. Thirsty” (the spit vacuum), the cherry toothpaste, EVERYTHING! Unfortunately, he didn’t get such a good report. When his back two molars formed they had pockets in them that resulted in two deep seams on the front of each tooth. And as you can imagine that isn’t good–cavities just waiting to happen. Sooooo, we had to go back today to have one sealed. Now Noah hates the dentist.
After the dentist we ran to Walmart to grab a few things–wipes, diapers, deoderant, jeans for Hunter– you know, the usual Walmart kind of things. When we got home, Denver was asleep. While he rested, we ate lunch and tidied up the family room, so we could sit down somewhere and walk around without tripping. When Denver woke up we went for a walk to the “Duck Park.” It was beautiful outside and we couldn’t resist. We gathered rocks on our way, to throw into the lake (which is still frozen) and a little old lady reminded the boys from her window about their ABC’s (”Always Be Safe”). Hunter then immediately proceeded to run into the middle of the street as an SUV came speeding by and I stood there screaming “Hunter! Hunter! HUNTER!” and I’m sure the little old lady, who was still watching, nearly had a heart attack. Amazingly enough, we arrived at the park in four pieces and we all had a great time. Then it was home. Dinner. Baths. A game or two on the gamecube with Hunter. A couple of books with the little guys. Brush teeth. Bed.
And now. . .I really need my ice cream cone. Good night!
